Silent auction project
I wanted to do a fundraiser for the wood shop to raise money for a Saw Stop Table Saw. I thought of having a bake sale, but what does that have to do with woodwork? So after talking with some colleagues, I thought that having a silent auction would be perfect! I ran with the idea and this is how it worked:
Students were to design a project that they thought would be a best seller piece. They researched different ideas and came to a decision. Students came up with awesome ideas! Then students were to write up a cost sheet. This would tell us what the project would cost us to make it and that would be the starting bid. Students then used their shop time to build the projects.

The night was successful, we sold almost everything. We raised enough money to reach our goal! We are now in the works of getting a Saw Stop for our Junior Wood Shop.
